I feel so privileged to have inherited one of "Bansi uncle's" paintings. I grew up in Srinagar and spent a lot of time in the environs that he illustrated in his paintings, leaving for us an immortal legacy; so many beautiful gifts we can cherish and appreciate forever. I met Bansi Uncle as a child and remember him as a warm, friendly and sensitive soul. My parents loved his work and collected some of his paintings. He surely must have felt so inspired by the beauty and life of Kashmir for we see it so stunningly depicted in his work. I think I learnt to appreciate art partly because of him and I hope his paintings will motivate future generations of artists to see Kashmir through his eyes and recreate newer wonders of art.

what I have glimpsed of late Bansi Parimoo Saeb’s life and work through this website is truly remarkable. His paintings stand apart in a class of their own- the warmth of the medley of colours, the landscapes, abstract representations of perceived realities all make you deeply aware about the artistes repose and turmoil. Too sad that he was uprooted and made to languish in a harsh landscape he might have never conceived.

Dear Parimu family,

the website brings back precious memories of life in Barzulla, with such wonderful neighbours as the Parimu family. Totally steeped in culture and beauty, music and art. the photographs and paintings are precious. I remember Indumati ki Palki, which was one of the paintings displayed at your house. Words not adequate to express myself.

Being closely related to Late Shri Bansi Parimu, it may sound pompous to write a eulogy. Nevertheless he deserves every praise, earned by inspiring many who felt creative after interacting with him.  Rather than lament over misfortunes he turned the situation on its head to derive new sense of hope that typically flowed through his brush.

Khoobsoorat. (And I do not say that often about art ). and with a message a boor like me can decipher (that's an even rarer admission)

I met Shri B.Parimoo during 1950s,I vaguely recall the lane near Kraal khud where he used to live. he had just started making waves as an artist of calibre in the Valley. We were also associated with progressive left wing Cultural Congress a platform setup by late Mr.Sadiq.Having left KMR in 54 I lost contact with him.But my relative,J.N.Parimoo, who was a known journalist mentioned about Bansi's exhibtion, probably his first,in Delhi, that must have been in 60s.Later I lost all contact as I left for Europe for a long stay there.

What a great artist! What a great man! What else can a small person like me say about one who was an institution in himself? Unfortunately, I could never see him in person despite my father being a great admirer of him and very effusive about his highly original work. His 'Cobwebs of Apathy' is very close to my heart on account of the pain of a whole community that it conveys through those brilliant images woven together in a fine exposition of intense creativity! I do not know, but whenever I see this painting, it evokes a feeling of collective suffering of a whole lot of unfortunate people. I remember a painting by the great Picasso called 'Guernica' that conveys the horror of war. The 'Cobwebs of Apathy' to my mind belongs to this category of all-time great paintings!

It was not long time back I came to know about this Great Personality . How do you know Jheelaf , one of my relative asked me some months back , she is just good friend of mine , I replied . Do you know her father or his great works . No , was my reply . Then a simple sentence from him described it all " He was an asset to our community " , " Ambassador of Humanity " , he preached and believed in only one religion i.e Humanity . He had ideas ahead of his time . Thanks for giving us the chance to praise sucha a Great Artist and Such a Great Art ......

Bansi sir is associated with my childhood.he had created a drama foundation and I was an artist in the play Diwane ka Kawab.

we gave several performances and at one of the performances at Hotel Nedous' Daddy or DPDhar as we called him, spotted me and gave me special appreciation.we even went to jammu for a performance. Bansi sir, invited me to participate in the Republic day tableau and that is when we have the unique picture with Nehruji. At the same venue there is a picture with India Gandhi. And it is a prized possession of my mother. I will always remember him very fondly.GOD BLESS
